We sell lots of Chocolate Making Party Kits for Christmas gifts so December is a very busy month here at The Chocolate Hedgehog.
This means we are always a little behind on our Christmas shopping and often dash to the main high-street names on Christmas eve.
This year however, we’ve done things a little differently. In a bid to support local businesses and communities, and find more unique Christmas presents, we’ve been shopping locally.
Here’s our favourite independent, local North London shops.
Based in Angel, Folklore sells beautiful handmade homeware, furniture and lighting.
The Peanut Vendor
Filled with very affordable vintage, industrial and antique pieces, The Peanut Vendor is perfect for unique homeware Christmas gifts.
The De Beauvior Deli
As well as home made cakes and locally produced jams, the deli offers delicious Christmas food and wine hampers. There’s also rows and rows of sweets and organic chocolates for stocking fillers.
Outpost is a not-for-profit shop, gallery and community hub run by the Peter Bedford Housing Association. The shop stocks well crafted handmade furniture, toys and homeware. As an added bonus, the shop also offers work experience for local tenants.
Retro toys upstairs and restored, vintage furniture downstairs; basically everything you need for unique gifts this year.
